 About the Stafford Disabled Access Group

The Group meets to debate a varied agenda of topics affecting disabled people, they also consider recent Planning Applications to ensure applicants have considered the needs of disabled people in their plans. Members of the Group are available on request, to provide advice on the needs of disabled people and how these can best be provided for.

Audits and Consultations

We have carried out access surveys and access audits for local statutory, voluntary and business organisations

Advice and awareness raising

We raise awareness of disability access issues through training and events, campaigning and assisting in the development of Council and Business Disability policies.
 

Awards Scheme and Nominations

Our Awards Scheme is all about raising awareness of disabled access issues and at the same time rewarding businesses and service providers that have voluntarily made adjustments to their buildings or service provision.
